Latest Review :   "The staff are really friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean and well presented. Our room was spotless and very well appointed with super comfy beds. Despite the heatwave, our room remained cool and was also very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, lots to choose from and I especially appreciated the scrambled egg and the mushrooms - very tasty and not mass produced. Parking at hotel, 5 min walk to bus stop for quick, easy journey into city centre."

Latest Review :   "I found the staff and family so helpful and friendly, accommodation extremely clean and comfortable with a very good shower. I was at the front of the hotel facing the busy-ish road but suffered no bothersome traffic noise, the insulated windows did a good job there. Excellent wide-ranging buffet breakfast with fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt, pastries, full English, everything you could want really! It is by far and away the nicest hotel I have stayed at around Oxford."

Absolutely excellent

Well worth the effort to visit , we had the fish and chips x2 plus the southern fried chicken tenders and chips, I can honestly say it was the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten out couldn’t fault it , my wife said her fried chicken was really tasty , the place itself is tastefully decorated and you can tell they have a pride about the way it looks. We would not hesitate to recommend this Inn, also a mention to the lady who looked after us Alice , brilliant!

A great trip

Exactly what we needed. The pub also does some sensational non traditional dishes. They where so lovely when I popped a party canon they laughed and joined our celebrations. The owner of the pub was so kind and gave us a donation towards our charity RASA whom we where doing the hike for. Would recommend and go back! Thanks so much, have a great rest of the year everyone.

Popped in & so glad we did!

We were passing through and saw this fantastic building and were curious as it looked amazing. We were not disappointed at all. I had the Steak and ale pie and although don’t normally get excited by a pie I had to complement their chef as it was perfect! My wife was not disappointed by their burgers either. Lovely Staff, great service, not rushed but not too laid back. I would 100% recommend to any travellers looking for a drink and a bite to eat in Oswaldtwistle (I hope I spelt that right!)

Centrally located and comfortable stay.

A lovely hotel centrally located. We parked on a council car park across from this Lancaster hotel which was fine. Room was large and comfortable, and the shower was brilliant. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice on the menu and staff were very friendly and attentive. We have already booked our return visit!

Great food, good price

Real fires, great service and good food at an excellent price. If you want cheap and cheerful head to the Buck across the bridge. If you want quality at a decent price the Lister is the place for you. Dogs welcome. Good range of bitters.

Definitely come again.

All the staff are extremely friendly and make everyone feel totally welcome. The food we had was top notch and apparently all home cooked. I had the curry off the menu and my wife had the chicken stew with dumplings from the chalkboard. We didn’t leave a speck on our plates. On top of that we got to park our camper for nothing overnight. What more can you ask for. Oh by the way, it’s in a lovely part of Lancashire. Don’t just take my word for it, go and try it yourself.

Gorgeous country pub

Just what you needed on a miserable Misty cold day. Roaring fire and cosy oldie worldy decor. Lots of parking. Very pleasant staff. The fish butty ( on a brioche bun) & mushy peas also with skinny fries. The beer battered haddock was beautiful. The goosnargh chicken BLT on brioche was also spot on and will definitely return. Highly recommended

Fantastic stay!

We were attending a Wedding in Windermere and the Langdale Hotel was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed, 6 of us had a brilliant overnight stay, Amanda the Landlady was extremely friendly, and the Breakfast was lovely, nothing was too much trouble, I would definitely stay again.

Definitely Recommend

We were made to feel really welcome and even the dog got treats. Whilst this establishment is super dog friendly even providing mats for them to lay on in the pub, there were also seating options for those without furry friends. The room was really clean with lovely homemade biscuits and choice of hot drinks all lovingly presented. We ate in the bar and food was lovely, we had one small issue which was resolved quickly once raised. The atmosphere is relaxed and we enjoyed a few drinks.

A wonderful experience

My husband and I have just had a wonderful meal at this gastro pub. We chose the roast beef & Yorkshire pudding with vegetables. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream whilst my husband had rum & rain ice cream with a rum to pour over the top. Everything was freshly made (no frozen stuff) It was the best meal we have ever had in ages. We highly recommend paying the pub a visit but book a table first. Very friendly welcoming staff.

Enjoyed every bite!

Popped in here as I was looking for somewhere to eat dinner at a reasonable hour. I arrived just after 4.30pm, and was told they didn't serve food till 5. One relaxing cider later, I ordered the steak and ale pie with mash. I'm a little fussy with my food, but was hoping for something nice.

Absolutely delicious.

Great menu choice, vegetarian, and vegan options, I had the mushroom and halloumi burger it was a tasty sensation, my husband had the steak n ale pie he said it was packed with steak. Staff are friendly and very helpful. I love that we had time between courses I hate being rushed. Plenty of drinks to chose from and they even do cocktails to. You can sit out at the front and loose yourself in the breathtaking scenery but on rainy days there is also a lovely outside botanical covered area.

Warm, welcoming and friendly.

I rarely write reviews unless somewhere really stands out (good or bad). This little pub is just exceptional! We'd rented out a small cottage in Stainforth and popped in to this pub on the first evening for a quick drink with our two small boys (4 and 8). By the time I'd ordered a second drink for my wife and I we'd had already had several laughs, the landlord (Mark) had shook my hand and we were on first name terms. I don't think we've ever felt so welcomed in such a short amount of time.
